all that cliche stuff

Happy Valentines Day! This is a holiday that's reviled by some and LOVED by others. I'm somewhere in the middle, which makes it okay to celebrate it, or not.

Today we're going to school with Chloe to help hand out her valentines to her classmates. I'm excited about it because she is SO excited about it. I remember distinctly handing out valentines and getting them at my desk in elementary school. We always decorated a tissue box and waited to see what kind of cool Valentines we would get from our friends and classmates. Luckily my daughter is still too young to care about which Valentines she might get from which boys, thank goodness. Heaven help me when that day comes. I'm going to be a mess.

I hope you either celebrate the heck out of this day (chocolate, flowers, wine, etc.) or ignore all those silly things and have a wonderful day despite all of that cliche stuff!

FYI, today I finally got a 2016 photo book put together. Shutterfly is my go-to website for photo books. Here is a referral code (here) if you are interested in making your own!

So much like my gift giving timeliness, I am also pretty late in sharing this great Father's Day gift idea. You can just keep this filed away for the next time you need to make something heartfelt for a loved one on their birthday, graduation, Christmas, or random special day.

Shutterfly is a great photo printing and sharing website that allows you to compile all the photos you have and put them into sophisticated and timeless photo books (among their other services).  Last year my brothers and sisters got together to write five things we learned from our mom and I put them all together with some photos into a Mother's Day book.  It turned out awesome and I had to buy one for myself as a keepsake. It's one of my favorite books on our bookshelf.

This year I decided to do the same thing for our Dad. I'm excited for it to arrive in the mail so I can see how it turned out. It will be really neat to have one for each of my parents.

Shutterfly is currently providing a discount of 40% if you use the promo code 40TOSHARE.

This is not a sponsored post, all thoughts are my own. So, you're welcome Shutterfly!
