happy 2nd birthday

Happy 2nd Birthday to our youngest, miss Elinor! Oh my, look how you've grown!!! Thanks for bringing the goofy vibe to our house. Your little dance moves and side eyes always crack us up. Thank you for keeping Chloe in line, even when she doesn't need it. Thank you for always requesting mac and cheese, even when we didn't know we needed it.

And though she be but little, she is fierce

Love you forever!

a happy 4th to you

Happy 4th birthday to my smart, brave, kind, and inquisitive little Chloe!

Here are a few things I'd like to remember about my four-year-old:

favorite food > frozen grapes

favorite drink > red water (a little bit of Mio in water)

her best quote recently > 'I love to push buttons because they are so pushable!'

recent obsession > all things paw patrol and space related

a recent wish > 'for everyone we love to live with us'

loves to > sing and dance, paint and draw, cuddle with her sister, fix things with her Dad, talk about space

sleeping > 8:30pm to 7am, skipping most naps these days

things she likes to do herself > brush her teeth, buckle her seat belt and close the door, get dressed, and setting the table

Love this little girl! Happy Birthday!

a cake smashing good time

I have to share a few photos from our little birthday party this weekend. We had a few family members over to celebrate Elinor's first birthday. I made a cake and we had a easy peasy sandwich making area with lots of chips and crackers to go with. It was super simple, but perfectly appropriate to ring in Elinor's first year of life. It also happened to be Valentines Day, so there was lots of Valentines exchanging and pink hearts floating around.

The cake ended up being a huge success (of course). Chloe felt it necessary to give her a few bites from a fork at first. I think she was a little thrown off as to why we just decided to let Elinor grab cake with her hands. Soon enough though, Elinor got a chance to grab and smash away. Not much ended up in her hair, so I was super happy about that.

Scroll down for a few more sweet photos of cake, candles, and cuteness.

happy birthday Elinor

Today you are one!

Here are a few things I'd like to remember about you on this day.

your favorites
> raisins, cheerios, pomegranates, cheezits, bananas, and Oreos (thanks Grandma...)
> your pink afghan from Grandma
> your people
> Maya (the 'pup')
> dancing to music

your nicknames
> sissy
> chewy (and things that rhyme with chewy, all courtesy of your big sister)
> miss Elinor

sleeping
> bedtime is at 7:30pm and you usually sleep through the night until 7:00am
> naptime is around 12:30 and you usually sleep for one hour

playing
> your sister is your favorite person to play with, but also the one who annoys you the most
> playing in the kitchen cupboards is probably your favorite and taking towels and moving them around the house
> walking with sister is also high up on the list, it looks like a slow dance with you holding her hands and her backing up slowly down the hall
> you love to go outside, but don't like to be out for too long since it's still pretty cold out

dislikes
> car seats are the worst
> sometimes taking a nap is not on your agenda and you want everyone to know about it
> trying new foods is a struggle

All in all you're a pretty good little baby (or toddler now!). You certainly have opinions and aren't afraid to communicate them. That stubborn streak is still running strong in our family. You have a couple words but we are excited for when you're grunts and pointing turn into sentences. You communicate very well without words, but it will be fun to see what's really going on in that little head of yours. Now that you're walking it will be fun to see what mischief you and your sister will be getting into!

We love you Miss Elinor!
